pearlwares of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, and is the product of 20 years
of research, which has enabled the author to group pieces and make or suggest attributions.

Oriental Expressions was issued to accompany the 6th
Northern Ceramic Society Exhibition held at Stock-on-Trent in 1989. It is one of
the seven catalogues included on the NCS cd but an original copy would be of interest
to those without equipment to view the cd or those who merely prefer information
in printed form.

A Celebration of Yorkshire Pots
was published in 1997, the centenary year of the NCS, to illustrate the 8th Northern
Ceramic Society Exhibition at Clifton Park Museum at Rotherham. It is not included
on the NCS cd of Exhibition Catalogues. It has 190 pages containing 282 black and
white and 51 colour illustrations of pots made in Yorkshire with accompanying text.

Echoes and Reflections brings together
a selection of material from the first 34 issues of the Society's newsletter that
appeared between 1971 and 1979. They were printed on foolscap paper and with out
photographs and are now quite scarce. Clarice and Harold Blakey compiled this interesting
78 page booklet and included many interesting articles which do not suffer from
the lack of illustration

Manufacturing Processes of Tableware during
the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries, by Robert Copeland is a lavishly
illustrated, full colour, 186 page book. It displays the vast experience and knowledge
the author has of the manufacturing processes of bone china and earthenware tableware,
mainly as carried out in the Spode works; these were typical of the methods used
throughout the pottery industry and should be of interest to all people involved
with pottery and porcelain, whether as collectors, customers or dealers.
