Jet ware is earthenwarewith a shiny black finish which provides a ground for a variety of decorative treatments including painting, printing and jewelling.

Ebony is the trade name for a brand of jetware that was long believed to be the product of the Dudson factory.  Recent research leads to the conclusion that it was made by E.J.
