Artists, Designers & Decorators

Join us for Winter Weekend 2025, where we celebrate the artists, designers, and decorators who have helped shape the British ceramic industry.

Since the 18th century, British ceramic manufacturers have not only relied on their in-house talent but have also benefited significantly from the contributions of external artists and craftsmen. During the 18th and 19th centuries, painters, sculptors, decorators, and designers from across Europe were instrumental in elevating the international reputation of British ceramics. This influence persisted into the 20th century, impacting both decorative and functional wares.  Our speakers will delve into the stories of these influential artists, exploring their relationships with traditional ceramic manufacturers and their lasting impact on both the British and international markets.
